While it isn't officially supported, we have many users who successfully run NewsBin under Linux with a Windows emulator (Wine is the most popular). This forum exists for you Linux guys to share your experience getting NewsBin running on Linux as well as report any strangeness that we may or may not be able to fix. DThor is the resident expert.

I'm running Newsbin Pro 6.42 on my Mac OSX 10.8. I installed the 32bit version within Crossover Office by Codeweavers. If you look online you can pick up CO for around $30 (with an online coupon). I do not work for nor am i affiliated with Codeweavers in any way.
I just wanted to share what I've been able to do for those who use a Mac. A virtual environment is not needed.
I'm still testing but I've been able to download large files at very good speeds and unraring and handling of files without issue. I'll reply if I spot any problems with advanced features but at least it works.
I apologize if this is the wrong forum.
Cheers,

That's cool. You'll probably find some odd graphical issues here and there since that's sort of par for the course with any wine based solutions, but certainly it can be quite usable. I didn't know crossover ported to Mac...

That's true. The server setup and other configuration windows might display discolored (rarely though) but the main window for searching and manageing files, groups and downloads looks fantastic. There are a few slight imperfections but are hard to spot and not a problem at all.
I'm running it on my iMac 27" and I love the added screen resolution and room. Easy on the eyes.

Thank you for this. I've been a NB user, and HUGE fan, for 10 years and just migrated to a mac. Was stressing out over having to move to a different product.
I'm using the trial version of CO but everything is working lovely. Only had the option to install 32 bit version.
Installation was a breeze....very straight forward. Am running OSX 10.9
Hurray!

You know, now that I support download in Android. I do wonder how hard it would be to make it work under OSX? Lets just say it's on my mind. After Android I need to get it building under Linux. Once that's done, it's just a matter of figuring how to do it on OSX. My wife gave me her old Mac Mini so, I do have some hardware to play with now.
I can't promise anything but, it's becoming more possible by the day.
