Newsbin shows information about downloaded in the status column of the download list. This is a breakout of the information displayed. Say you see:
[PAR: 2800 of 2900] D:125 DL:1 Inc0 P:0 R:4 N:6
This is what it means.
[PAR: X of Y] - X is how many blocks Newsbin has downloaded. Y is how many blocks are needed to finish the download. This can be either file blocks or repair blocks.
D:X - X files have downloaded.
DL:Y - Y files are still in the process of downloading.
Inc Z - Z files are incomplete (meaning the data is all there about how to download). It doesn't mean the files are good, just that the information to download the file is all there.
P:X - X files are paused
R:X - X retries so far
N:Y - Y seconds till the next retry.
- The most important thing is [PAR: X of Y]. It tells you the current download progress.
- DL:Y and Inc Z will probably show you why a file isn't done. If DL isn't = 0 then files are still downloading or waiting for data.
- Clicking the + icon to look at the downloading files
- Right clicking the parent item and selecting properties to see the current download state, is how you can figure out why a file isn't finishing.
