Retrieving a specific range of older headers

Postby larft » Sat Aug 06, 2022 1:59 pm

I found this info before but can't seem to find it again. I want to retrieve headers from a group within a specific range of dates not download all of the headers starting from the oldest post. I remember Quade pointing me to a post that described a procedure to do this by editing and/or deleting files and changing some settings.
Can you guys fill me in again on how to accomplish this!

Thanks in advance!

Easiest way to get a range is

1 - Right click the group "Post Storage/Use Download Age".
2 - Set the "Download Age" to the start range days ago. So if you're interested in 2 years ago set "720".
3 - Download headers normally. It'll start pulling from 720 days ago.
4 - Watch the header download "show all posts" on the group.
5 - When enough headers download delete the download.

Now you need to reset the group.
1 - Post Storage/Use Download Age
2 - Set a Download age of 2.
3 - Download headers Normally.

This will catch you up to the current headers by downloading 2 days worth and setting the high water mark to the latest headers.
