Version 6.80 Beta 12 Available...

Postby dexter » Fri Dec 01, 2017 3:39 pm

We think we are getting closer to a Release Candidate. To-do list is getting shorter. Here is a summary of changes in this one:

Summary:
  • Fixed issue where Files and Failed lists weren't retaining history in the Find field.
  • Fixed bug that prevented header downloads from retrying on errors.
  • Fixed issue loading ZIP files containing NZB's
  • Fixed issue with certain posting styles where feeding an NZB into a post list from double-click wouldn't compact but it would compact when loading it into the files list.
  • Fixed potential crash bug.
  • Processed NZBs now go into an NZB folder located in the Newsbin Data Folder instead of going to a folder named "loaded".
  • NZB Autoload will only process files actually containing NZBs now instead of all files in the folder.
  • Changes to better group certain posting styles into files.
  • When downloading with NZB files, now renames obfuscated filenames found in a rar file with NZB filename.
  • Purge the history list of anything older than 7 days when using automation interface (sonarr, couchpotato, etc)
  • AutoPAR will now automatically extract .zip files.
  • When processing NZB's, processed files go in to the "loaded" folder. This folder location is now centralized in the Newsbin Data Folder instead of using the "Loaded" folder under each NZB Autoload folder.
  • Autoload filename scan for Zip and Rar files only touch files that actually contain NZB's. It ignores files > 10MB.
  • When copying NZB's to the temp/NZB folder, now copies over the last path segment unless the source folder is already the temp/nzb folder.

Full change history and the download link is on the Newsbin Beta Page.

Still do not see corrections to sort by status. It does not work in Beta 11 also.

Re: Sort by status.

I did not see it in the list of things fixed in Beta 12 and now that I downloaded Beta 12, it is still not fixed. I wonder what the technical issue is relative to fixing it.

Thought it was worth mentioning that I love the new feature of renaming obfuscated file names to match the NZB name. It should be a great timesaver.

There still seems to be a problem with ZIP'ed nzb files in B12!

I loaded a ZIP containing 3 NZB files into the NZB Autoload folder. The ZIP file was moved to Newsbin's NZBs folder. Newsbin then extracted the first nzb file there. It then seemed to be trying to extract the second nzb file from the zip and failing as the nzb file kept appearing/disappearing in the NZBs folder. Newsbin never extracted the third nzb file there. Nothing was ever loaded into the Download list. If I manually extract the nzb files from the ZIP file they all load fine. I can provide the zip file if that would help?

When loading the extracted nzb files by putting them into the Newsbin NZB Autoload folder I also noticed that a 'Nzbs' folder appeared inside the Newsbin 'Nzbs' folder with copies of the same nzb files that appeared at the basic 'Nzbs' folder level. Not sure if this is indicative of anything or not?

How about emailing me the Zip? I only tested with singleton NZB's.

Automatic unzip of zip files that contain directory trees still seems to be broken. Problems I'm still seeing:
- it doesn't create a top-level new directory where the zip tree gets unzipped into, which means you can wind up with the contents of the zip file all over the current directory. Would prefer to have it create a top-level directory based on zip file's name, then unzip everything into that directory, while preserving the directory structure.
- some zip file content gets lost - obviously, this one's more of a showstopper problem :) .

It would also be great to get a switch that allows automatic unzip to be turned off, while automatic unrar remains enabled.

Thanks!

1 - Then it wouldn't behave the same as RARS. You can add $(SUBJECT) to the unrar path for these groups if you want it to generate another folder named for the subject to unzip into.

2 - PM me an example. In my testing everything laid out fine but I only tested a couple zips from some of the mac groups.

Anyone noticing Problems with the PW Manager - worked fine until B11 now on B12 today I had DLs where i had the right PW in the Manager but the DL still failed - when I unpacked manually the DLs worked fine - I checked for empty spaces in the PWs but the PWs were correct so Iam not sure where to look .

itimpi, fixed this thanks. It was a typical "off by one" problem. It was missing the last file in the ZIP.

Could that also be the reason for the dropped file in my unzip issue?

Thanks.

GREAT NEWS (for me at least)! :)

The "open Watch Topics windows not updating with new headers" bug we were really going back and forth on since B9 has apparently been FIXED in B12! As a visual confirmation cue, the window bars now flash quickly as new headers hit the sort and the windows appear with new content as they did before B9.

Thanks so very much for whichever one of the newest B12 tweaks solved this.

Are these files that you've downloaded recently? Or with a prior beta? Duplicate detection was definitely broken a few betas ago. If these are files you downloaded back then, the signatures did not get added to the database. If you are saying you downloaded stuff with B11 or B12 and then re-downloaded the same thing and it didn't get tagged as a dup then we'll have to look into it again.

Ah, you are downloading with NZB files. NZB files bypass the duplicate detection system. This was a feature request by Sonarr users.

Ok, I have verified the behavior instead of going by memory:

1) If you load an NZB manually (File -> Load NZB's), it will respect duplicate detection
2) If you double-click or drag and drop with Options -> Settings -> NZB Options -> Download Double-Click NZB turned off, it will respect duplicate detection (you manually queue for download from post list)
3) If you double-click or drag and drop with Options -> Settings -> NZB Options -> Download Double-Click NZB turned on, it will bypass duplicate detection
4) If you autoload an NZB, it bypasses duplicate detection.

So if you want to make sure your stuff is getting dup checked, use option 1 or 2 above.

Thought I had better point this out, when I download nfo files from various groups I am getting many of them as 0 bytes and when opened the files are of course empty showing no text. This behavior has just started in Beta 12.

Dex tried to reproduce this in B12 and wasn't able to. If there anything special about these files?

No, they were just your standard nfo text files. Had that happen again yesterday, and this was just to read the nfo file to see what the dl consisted of. I kept on trying on the same file about 4 or 5 times, and then it finally showed the contents. It almost appears as if there was some kind of delay as even dl them I got 0 byte files. They did show to be online for several hours or more already.

It may have had something to do with the poster himself as plenty of his posts would not function properly. For example I would dl the group of files, they would unrar in my dl folder, but the dl would remain showing in the download pane of newsbin as not enough pars. I would click on one more par file to dl, and then the dl pane would clear out as in normal behavior even though the files had already unrarred in my dl folder.

The files themselves were with that garbled up nonsense, but this poster did put a nfo file in each set so I am inclined to think it may just be bad posting. It did also occur in another group that I regularly grab from but never had an issue prior from this poster.

Just ran Newsbin today, and could not repeat any errors. The download came in proper. Will keep you posted on this and take some screenshots if it occurs again. Hopefully just a network glitch on the weekend.

First run on Beta 13 I got the same problem. Opened up the nfo file to read and it was blank. Newsbin reports Critical Error Message:

ERROR NEWS SERVER ERROR: Newshosting Server reports group doesn't exist: Missing (filename)

I clicked on the file again after clearing error message and the nfo file was readable. File was posted 1 3/4 hours ago. Took some snapshots, forget your email address that I can send them to. Hoping you understand what is going on with this.

Intermittent problems like this sometimes point to a conflict with antivirus software. If you configure your AV software to ignore the Newsbin Data Folder, it might resolve your issue. Or you can temporarily disable your security software, reboot your machine, and see if the problem persists just to test the theory.

Are you queuing these for download using ctrl-r or just adding to the download list? I tried both ways and cannot recreate your issue.

Also might want to switch to B13 before testing further.

I am right clicking most of the time and Read Post Body. Just tried now and the nfo was blank. Newsbin reported Critical Error, cleared that popup, I right clicked again on the file to read post body and then it showed up. It has also occurred downloading a nfo.

I wonder if it is not an issue with newshosting itself. It started occurring last week and still does the same in B13.

Problem with B13 I posted in that group of when it opens up, it now opens up to Search instead of Groups List. Not sure how long I will keep running this build or if I go back to B12 where it opens up to Groups list.
