Image Spam Filtering Help?

Postby sourceavenger » Sat Aug 17, 2013 6:00 pm

Hello,
I was just writing here to ask for assistance in finding ways to filter out image spam, and if anyone had good filter settings that help them? I personally use the Subject Reject and Filename reject filters. I reject any compressed formats(rar, zip, etc), any movie or audio formats and any executible formats. Aswell as par files and such. I have a minimum size limit of 5kb and a max size limit of 30mb, cross post filter of 3, and retention limit of 1840 days.

If anyone has any good regular expressions to use to deny spam or could recommend any change in my settings to deny spam please just let me know :).

You could use filename accept to only accept the files you want too.

Yeah I could try that, I originally used the filename accept filter to deny posts that wernt images but what I found out was it was picking up image posts aswell and blocking them. I will see if it helps thanks man :).

Edit:
To those interested the following things have helped me lower my spam image posts down tremendously.
Crosspost filter: 1
Minimum Size: 5kb
Max Size: 30mb

Use subject reject and filename reject to reject compressed formats, executibles, multi-part downloads. etc. And block certain words like "lolita". Something else I notices about the spam posts(and how to filter them) is instead of just blocking the specific poster and deleting their posts I did the following to a lockout of a poster. I used <*@newsguy.com>. That blocked all the spam images he was posting :).
