Slow Header downloads?

Postby Rilly » Tue May 15, 2018 1:57 pm

Hi,
I got a new computer and installed newsbin 6.80 (Build 5058) on it (wins 10, i7). For some reason, the headers download really slow. Takes about 15 mins per 1 Mil headers. I don't remember it being that slow. I have a 20 Mbit connection. I was getting time outs until I added the app to the trusted list on my antivirus (Kaspersky). My provider is Supernews (I've been with them for many years now without issues before).
I'm not even sure where to look. Right now Xfeatures is not enabled. I tried it both ways though.. enabled or not.
Any suggestions?

Have you tried downgrading to 6.73 and seeing if you have the same problem? As Dexter has pointed out you can downgrade:

dexter wrote:Yes, you can install 6.73 over 6.80 with no issues. I've done it myself during the testing phase. If you are a header downloader, I'd make sure the import folder is clean before downgrading since they are no longer compressed in 6.80 so 6.73 won't process them.

Also you might want to look at this thread
