difficulty uploading file request

I've read the help info. I've enabled uploading to my server. I enter the information for the required group and press send. The posting just disappears into the void. I cannot see it when I search. I've tried downloading the new headers too. However I never seem to see any results and I get no feedback to suggest that the posting failed or what might be wrong. Please can anyone help?

I personally have not had time to test the latest version but make sure you do have 6.90. On the newsbinpro main site. There were issues in some of the beta's but it seemed to get fixed.
Also in my past experience most times you will get posting not available in the error log if not available or enabled.
I am sure Quade will be along and can possibly tell you more.

ADDED: I just did test 6.90 - 5524 and posting worked.

I am using 6.90B10 Build:5368. Cannot find any error on the log tab. I'll try an update to 5524

Just notice Status show 'Incomplete. Missing Information' Any idea why?

Even more confused now. I thought I had cracked it but cannot find my post on an internet search - only if I search locally! Is this a problem with my news server (TweakNews)?
The help instructions seem ambiguous and it seems that what I enter in the 'subject' box at the top is what appears (locally) in the search subject field. I'm not sure what the blank box below the server field is for...
I must be a bit thick as so many others seem able to do this!

If they appear in the group listings or local search which is also the group listings then it's working.

Thanks for that Quaid. How long should it take to propagate to the news server that provides the Newsbin searches? Also what is the purpose of the box below the server dropdown and where does anything written there get posted?

For search, maybe never. It all depends on what search is looking for. Posting is posting to the news server. Search is completely out of band of that process.

Whatever you type into the box below the drop down should appear in the post body. You can think of posts as emails. They have email style headers, email like body and a binary file is encoded text that follows any text you type in.

I have posted a file request. If the post might not appear in search how will anyone find it to post the file?

The same way you did. In the headers for the group. I don't believe anyone is using "search" for file requests.
