Poster lockout 6.90 b5524

Postby wiggins09 » Thu Sep 01, 2022 9:40 am

I'm finding that attempts to lockout a specific poster are failing.
Every day he's back despite re-blocking him......
I checked the PosterLockout.txt file & the name is there.

I see that this issue has occurred previously, has the issue resurfaced for anyone else?
Advice? TIA.

I think you will find you have to click on the green radio button that activates the filters to stop the poster appearing in the specific group list tab.

When I open a group tab, I use the button and all the spam posters dissapear as long as you have added them to the spammers list by right clicking on the poster and clicking on the "Lockout Poster" option in the drop dpown list.

Yes this. If you don't enable the filters, everything shows.

Poster lockouts aren't that useful anymore. You might find generating a filter profile and adding the posters you like is more effective. Making an inclusive filter instead of exclusive. You can apply and remove the filter too to test your settings.

Thanks for the replies.
I have had the green button 'on', hence my confusion. Toggling it made things much worse :D
I decided to do a clean install, & that seems to have altered the behavior in my favor for now.

I will need to start working on filters tho as things changing as they have does make a mess of a lot of literal exclusions & inclusions which were ok before.

...& to hijack my own thread, I'm still seeing the queue halt when a 'dead' post is met.
If the problem file isn't deleted or paused NBP will hang on it all day.
& The queue will only continue after a restart of NBP.
It will not advance automatically to the next 'live' post without these conditions being met.
I'm sure it would skip ahead after x retries originally..... :?

If you want to PM the subject I can try it here. Don't post it here.

+1 on the lockout poster not sticking.
It filters until it is closed but doesn't when it is loaded again.
